Partnership With Parents

Buttons is committed to a continuous process of listening and responding to parents. This is both in terms of their child's learning and development and listening to their views and ideas. We have an open door policy so that parents can always talk to the nursery.

Key Worker System

Care of a child at whatever age is important and a consistent carer is of value. We therefore operate a Key Worker System which enables the parent to form a relationship with one of the staff team and it is this member of staff that continuously observes the child and notes the child's progress and development. All our members of staff are available to the parents at the beginning and end of each session to discuss any issues they may wish to raise. Additional appointments can be arranged to discuss any concerns.

Transitioning

The transition of a child from one part of the nursery school to another is carefully planned to ensure that the child makes a successful transfer with little or no stress. We hold transition meetings with parents to ensure they are fully aware and comfortable as their child moves up through the nursery.

Parent's Evenings

Parent's evenings are held every 6 months to discuss children's progress and development. This is based around a child's 'profile' which is a continually evolving record of their progress and development whilst at nursery. It contains daily observations made by a child's keyworker, samples of a child's work and photographic evidence.

Parent Committee

We value our parents and have established an ongoing dialogue with them through the setting up of Parent Committees. Each nursery has its own committee comprising of several parents, representing different parts of the nursery, and the nursery proprietors. Meetings are convened every 2 months and minutes of these meetings are issued to all nursery parents.

Newssheet

A regular nursery newssheet is also published which informs parents of events, initiatives and general nursery news.

Special Events

Fun Days are also held at each nursery every year to raise money for their chosen charity the NSPCC. They encourage interaction between the children outside of normal nursery hours, their parents and the staff team in a relaxed environment.

Testimonials

Don't take our word for it on the quality of care and education that Buttons offers.

This is what our parents say about Buttons. When asked recently to sum up our attributes, our parents used words like 'excellent,  caring,  enthusiastic,  brilliant,  friendly,  personal,  bright and lively,  loving,  safe hands.' What better recommendation can there be?
